Flawless performance for KEF
I purchased this KEF UWireless set of 2 receivers and one transmitter to eliminate dangerous and inconvenient wire runs to rear speakers AND to gain the ability to place rear speakers in their proper positions for surround sound ... no more wires running under rugs and no more speakers placed to the side of the listeners rather than behind the listeners. System set up is as easy as turning the units on.
This KEF system delivers very good audio quality to my ears and should complement most AV audio setups for rear speakers.
From my experience with this system, I find that there is NO interference from or with other electronics in my home: NO interference to or from wireless LAN/computers, NO interference to or from cordless phones, cell phones, walkie-talkies, wireless intercoms, etc. SOME reviewers have complained that there are no switches on the KEF receivers so that you must pull out the plugs for the receivers to turn them off. Not Cheap...KEF Wireless Sys works amazingly well.
I was skeptical at first, but am glad I purchased anyway. The KEF wireless sys is connected to a Denon AVR 2113CI receiver and 2 rear JBL ES20 speakers. I didn't want to run speaker cables to these rear speakers, and we needed flexibility to move these rear speakers around while entertaining in our living room. The KEF sys mates perfectly to the JBL speakers in the back. No intermittent drop offs; worked perfectly right out of the box. The Denon receiver automates balancing all home speaker volumes using Audyssey, a process that worked flawlessly despite the wireless hookup. Absolutely no interference/interruption from cell phone, laptop, subwoofer and microwave oven wireless signals all throughout our house. The KEF sys works really well thus far. Its not cheap, but in this case you get what you pay for.
receiver took a dump
after six months the right receiver failed. returned the entire 3 piece system to kef (because it's a handshape system) under warranty and now it's sitting on a tech's bench. why they are not sending me a new system is beyond me.
repair dept never picks up the phone and i'll be out a month or more of warranty when this gets back to me.
buyer beware of how their warranty works...
after receiving a second system the right receiver failed after 12 hours. kef then sent me out a new in the box system and the right receiver was dead in the box. it's possible that the bandwidth is being stepped on (each receiver is on it's seperate frequency) so kef is returning my money...great concept but won't work for me.
