THIS THING WORKS!
Out of dozens of products I have bought unseen online, I have only felt convicted enough to leave a really positive review on about 4-5 occasions. I am pleased to be able to say this thing works. I have had it over a month, use it every night for hours, switching between 5 different DVR's I have and it works perfectly. The remote feature is flawless and this unit does everything it says it does. You do not have to only have one hdmi device on at a time for it to successfully switch to another input. I can have all five dvr's powered on (all hooked up to this switch via hdmi) and then switch between them. When I am watching direct tv or cox cable, when I turn on one of my three Panasonic dvr's this hdmi switch automatically switches to the newly turned on dvr. I love this switch. I give it an A+!
Works great for me!!!
I ordered this switch because my old Samsung 61' DLP TV only has one HDMI input on it and my old Onkyo receiver has none. I was looking to replace the receiver with another Onkyo that has HDMI inputs on it but that would at least cost $500. So once I found this item and read the reviews I thought I would give it a try. First I'll start with the only thing I don't like about it. I don't like the ports on the side of the device. I'd rather have them all in the back. I know the designers were trying to make the device smaller but once you stick an HDMI cable on the side the footprint of the device get much bigger anyway because HDMI cables don't bend very well. Now for the good. I use 4 out of the 5 inputs. I have a Ruku, PS3, X-Box 360, and a Directv HD DVR all hooked up to it. The automatic switching works ok but you best only have one device on at a time and I've learned the Ruku doesn't seem to cut off ever. I use a logitech remote to control my whole system and this device...
