Early adoption woes, But has great potential!
WD has been very active in the networking areas these days and released bunch of cutting edge technology routers and routers with built-in HDD & NAS recently. WD does make excellent quality hardware and I have multitude of their devices around the house and all perform well. To name a few, I have WD My Net N900 Central HD Dual Band Router 2TB Storage WiFi Wireless Router, WD My Net Wi-Fi Range Extender. WD is also known for their hard drives and Media players like Western Digital WD TV Live Hub Media Center & WD TV Live Streaming Media Player Wi-Fi

Effortless network extension
For some reason, my bedroom has always had poor network reception even though the router is two rooms away. I've been using a network range extender but this has replaced it nicely.
Pairing it with my ASUS AC66U rounter was effortless. I just pressed a button on the device, another on the router, and they were paired. I put it in my bedroom and plugged in my DISH network Hopper receiver and also my Sony DVD player. I streamed some video on both devices and they worked flawlessly.
I watched a whole movie in HD without a glitch. The AC bridge provides a nice, fast, steady connection.
Simplest Setup Possible
I used this with my NETGEAR Wireless Router - AC 1750 Dual Band Gigabit (R6300)
The setup consisted of plugging unit in and pressing the WPS setup button. It not only synced so fast I thought something was wrong, it also optimized the speed to AC, but also adjusted its IP, and showed up properly as separate device on my network. For data junkies, it is annoying that you don't have any way to play with settings, or see detailed statistics from on device, but I have a router for that.
I previously had setup NETGEAR Wireless Router - N900 Dual Band Gigabit (WNDR4500) adapter with same router, but despite being same brand/family had to use manual setup to get best results, and still could not manage or see it. The WD My Net worked instantly and showed up in the Genie management tools despite being a different brand.
