I was very skeptical of this product, having tried several inexpensive video converters in the past with poor results, but this one works perfectly! I'm converting a 1360x768 VGA signal from a Media Center PC to a 1080p HDMI signal on a Sharp 1080p HDTV and the picture looks great! No over or under scan and the image is clear, crisp and has no artifacts. I'm very impressed. I've worked in the AV industry for more than 6 years and am thrilled to find a converter this good for such a little amount of money. Let's hope it stands the test of time. Thanks!

Works great if your TV has no PC input!
A new improved TV unfortunately meant PC input (VGA connector) is gone (as is often the case for TV's meant to be fed by an audio/video receiver, acting like a monitor). However, my A/V receiver had an unused HDMI input, and this is what the product was used with in my case. A TV's unused HDMI input could also serve.
In my case, I plugged VGA cable and 1/8" stereo patch cord from laptop into unit, connected HDMI cable to receiver and powered up the adapter - unit presents a color bar display when no signal is present - useful.
My Dell widescreen laptop was able to "talk" to the adapter, and full 1920x1080 HD resolution was able to be selected in Windows 7 resolution menu.
Note that I got this good result by selecting the external screen (via adapter) as the ONLY display. A laptop's LCD screen might NOT be full HD, so if "clone" mode (where both laptop and external screen connected to this adapter show same content) is selected, you may encounter...
Does what I needed
Big screen TV.........No VGA input........Wanted to connect a laptop to it for viewing video and pictures. This works fine. Pictures sharp (especially considering the lower end video of the laptop). Only thing I was a bit surprised of. Make sure you buy the needed cables to connect it up. It only comes with a power supply.
